History

Former COO of Tabs. I built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it. The numbers below come from videos that program produced.

It is the same playbook as at Tabs: a hook library, one variable per test, losers killed early, creators paid for output. Jewelry is a new category for me. I have not run it, so the first weeks are built to learn what an Uncommon James stack needs to say on camera before I scale anything.

Why now

  • 4.9

    Stars on Glutathione Serum

The Glutathione Serum page carries a 4.9 rating across 335 reviews. Creator videos can point to proof that is already there.

    Published
  • 2,449

    Reviews on one product page

One page reads 'Based on 2,449 reviews'. A creator video lands on a shelf where other shoppers have already spoken.

    Published
  • $75+

Free shipping for UJ Rewards members

The site offers free shipping on orders of $75+ for UJ Rewards members. A stack video can end on that line.

    Published
  • 20%

A referral line is already live

The site tells shoppers to send friends 20% off and earn 200 UJ Rewards points. A creator's audience gets the same invitation.

Part 4 of 15

Principles

  1. One number to protect

Cost per 1,000 views against a $1 target. The simulator lands at $5.74 today, so every test is aimed at closing that gap.

  2. One variable per test

Same Desire Gem and Chain Necklace, one changed hook. Losers killed early, winners go into the hook library.

  3. Pay for output, reward the breakout

Base pay buys seven videos a week. The $50 flat bonus only triggers past 100,000 views, once per creator per month.

  4. Claims sheet first

Creators quote the sheet, not memory. Skincare lines stay in the brand's own wording and jewelry gets no health talk.

One channel for everything

#briefs

Briefs, drafts, reviews and the weekly numbers

Illustrative
  1. MayaMon morning

This week's brief: Desire Gem and Chain Necklace, one hook only. Open on the clasp, then the gem. Seven videos, three different openers. The claims sheet is pinned above.

  2. JoMon afternoon

Can I say the Go Nude Glutathione Body Serum evens skin tone in my voiceover?

Only in the brand's words: "Skin perfecting antioxidant body serum that hydrates, smooths, evenly tones, and helps maintain youthful skin." Say it is the brand's description.

  3. MayaTue morning

Draft back on the Emerald Stud video. The voiceover says 'hypoallergenic', which is not on our sheet. Re-record with "The modern heirloom." and resend today.

  4. Check botAppWed morning

Pre-post check passed: claims sheet attached, category rule acknowledged, product named exactly as on the site, paid-post disclosure in the first line of the caption.

  5. TessThu evening

The Promise Pinky Ring video just passed 100,000 views, organic only. Posted it with the clasp-style opener.

Bonus logged: $50 flat, once for this month. The opener goes into the hook library.

  6. Report botAppMon morning

Weekly report posted. Best hook: the clasp reveal. Cost per 1,000 views is still above the $1 target. Two losing openers killed, two new ones queued for #briefs.

The messages illustrate the working channel, with invented people: briefs go out on Monday, claims questions get an answer the same day, and nothing posts without the check.

Part 5 of 15

Formats

  1. Clasp reveal

    Brief 01

    Clasp reveal

“This clasp is why I wear one chain every day.”

Close-up on the Wild One Chain Necklace, hands only, one take in window light, then step back to show it worn.

  2. Layer it up

    Brief 02

    Layer it up

    “Watch one necklace become three.”

Start with a single chain, add layers on camera with one cut per layer, finish on a mirror check in the Chateau Layered Necklace.

  3. Pinky ring pick

    Brief 03

    Pinky ring pick

“The one ring I keep reaching for.”

Hand shot on a commute or at a kitchen counter, pinky only, then show how the Promise Pinky Ring sits next to other rings.

  4. Body serum routine

    Brief 04

    Body serum routine

“My shower shelf has one new thing on it.”

Bathroom counter, bottle in hand, read the brand's description aloud, apply to an arm, promise no results.

  5. Candle and jewelry

    Brief 05

    Candle and jewelry

“Fall unboxing, but the candle is the plot.”

Light the Pumpkin Latte Candle, then lay a jewelry set beside it. Name the products, add no scent claims.

Every product line in a video comes off the claims sheet word for word, for example “The modern heirloom.”, “Elevated and simple.”, “Huggie earrings that steal the show.”. Product names are said as printed.

Part 6 of 15

Recruiting

Four sources in

  • Public posts with Uncommon James

Search public posts by product name: Desire Gem, Wild One, Promise Pinky Ring. People already wearing the pieces film them most naturally.

  • Store-city creators

Creators in Nashville, Chicago, Dallas and Charleston, where the stores are. Canvas totes carry three of those city names, a ready prop.

  • Skincare routine creators

People who already film routines and can include Go Nude Glutathione Body Serum, Koji Pads or the Coffee Scrub without promising results.

  • Affiliate or ambassador page

I did not find an affiliate or ambassador page on the site. Recruiting starts with direct outreach, not a sign-up form.

Five filters, fewer each step

  1. 1Can film seven a week

Shows steady posting and can hold seven videos a week through the six-week ramp.

  2. 2Wears jewelry daily

Their feed shows rings, earrings or chains on camera, not a single sponsored moment.

  3. 3Honest on camera

Reads the claims sheet back before the first draft and accepts a draft sent back.

  4. 4Audience that shops it

Followers who buy everyday jewelry: gift buyers, stackers, initial-necklace fans.

  5. 5Clean category record

No past posts promising skin results or metal-safety claims about jewelry.

Part 7 of 15

Who

  • The stacker

Layers rings on one hand and explains the logic in a single take.

Likely product: Grit Ring Stack (Set of 3)

  • The ear curator

Builds an ear stack on camera, stud first, huggie last.

    Likely product: Emerald Stud Earrings

  • The gift planner

Picks a present for a friend with a set budget in mind.

Likely product: You're A Gem Gold Jewelry Set

  • The initial collector

Talks about names and letters and how an initial sits with other chains.

    Likely product: Cursive Initial Necklace

  • The shower-shelf routine

Films a shelf and keeps to the brand's own words about the product.

Likely product: Go Nude Glutathione Body Serum

  • The weekend traveler

Packs a bag on camera: jewelry, luggage tag, passport wallet.

Likely product: Flights Over Feelings Passport Wallet

Left off, every time

Always left out: creators who promise skin results, call jewelry safe for allergies, name competitors or refuse the claims sheet. Category rule: skincare words stay the brand's own, attributed to the brand.

Claims sheet

Approved, word for word

Quoted exactly as the brand publishes it.

  • “The modern heirloom.”

Emerald Stud Earrings videos, in the opening or the close.

  • “Elegant and timeless.”

Pear Stud Earrings videos, as the brand's own line.

  • “Elevated and simple.”

Marquise Stud Earrings videos, as the brand's own line.

  • “Huggie earrings that steal the show.”

Emerald Dangle Huggie Earrings, when closing an ear stack.

  • “Because your body should look as good as your face.”

Go Nude body serum videos, said as the brand's description.

  • “Eligible purchases may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of receipt.”

Any video's closing line or caption about returns.

  • “Subscribe + save 10% on select beauty essentials”

Skincare routine videos, near the link.

Never said

Each one with the reason it stays out.

  • It fixes your skin

Outcome claim. Only the brand's literal description is allowed, attributed to the brand.

  • Safe for sensitive ears

No metal-safety wording on the site. Creators make no allergy claims.

  • It never tarnishes

Care and durability are not stated on the sheet.

  • Better than other jewelry brands

No comparisons with named or unnamed competitors.

  • Wear it in the shower

No care instructions are on the claims sheet.

  • It's solid gold

The site describes gold plating and Vermeil, so this contradicts it.

  • Makes you look younger

A health outcome. The brand's wording only, never paraphrased.

To confirm with the brand

Held until someone on the brand side signs off.

  • Free shipping for everyone

The site offers free shipping on $75+ for UJ Rewards members, and a standard shipping line carries an asterisk. Confirm terms.

  • Designed by Kristin Cavallari

The site says so. Confirm whether creators may use her name in captions and voiceovers.

Part 10 of 15

Pay

  • Starter

    $300–600

    a month, by band

New to us, steady posters: they prove a hook fits Wild One or Promise Pinky first.

    Bonus at the cap: $300

  • Standard

    $500–1,000

    a month, by band

Reliable weekly output and a clear stack style: the core of the roster of ten.

    Bonus at the cap: $500

  • Premium

    $800–1,500

    a month, by band

Proven reach and a clean category record, for those who can carry Desire Gem.

    Bonus at the cap: $700

  1. Under 100,000 views

    $0

The base pay covers the work.

  2. 100,000 views

    +$50 flat

    Whatever the band.

  3. 1,000,000 views

    Top-up to your cap

Bonus = band cap − base pay.

  • One bonus per creator per month, flat $50, once a video passes 100,000 views.
  • Per video: the $50 applies to one video past 100,000 views, never to a sum of several videos.
  • Organic views only: boosted views, paid use and giveaways do not count toward 100,000.
  • No bonus on a video that broke the claims sheet or the category rule, even past 100,000 views.

Starter: $600 cap − $300 fee = $300 bonus; Standard: $1,000 cap − $500 fee = $500 bonus; Premium: $1,500 cap − $800 fee = $700 bonus.

The bonus pays for reach after the work is done, never instead of it. One bonus per creator per calendar month keeps it an incentive and keeps the program cost predictable.

Above the $1 target at these inputs.

To hit $1, the roster needs about 10.1M views a month. That means about 4.2% of videos going viral, or a median near 22K views per video. That is why the day-90 gate exists: keep the accounts that clear it, replace the rest.

Proposed, not measured. Views = videos × median, breakouts at 10× the median, viral at 750K. Bonus: +$50 for a viral video, one per creator per month.

The math. Videos a month = 10 creators × 7 a week × 52 ÷ 12 = 303. Views per video = (1 − 4% − 0.5%) × 1,500 + 4% × 10 × 1,500 + 0.5% × 750,000 = 5,782.5; 303 videos × 5,782.5 = 1.8M views a month. Cost = 10 × $1,000 = $10,000 base + 1 bonus × $50 = $10,050. Cost per 1,000 views = $10,050 ÷ 1.8M × 1,000 = $5.74 against a $1.00 target. To hit the target, either 4.2% of videos go viral or the median video reaches 21,711 views, other inputs held.

Move the sliders and the label recalculates. The result is only as good as the guesses behind it, so the median views, the share of breakouts and the share of viral videos are marked as Assumptions until the first month of posts replaces them.

Ramp continues to 10 creators on seven videos a week. One variable per test, losers killed early, hook library starts.

  3. Month 2

Drop the weakest of the five formats. Keep the clasp reveal only if it holds cost per 1,000 views down against $1.

  4. Month 3

Winning hooks move to the top two pay bands. First 100,000-view videos earn the $50 flat bonus, once a month per creator.

  5. Day 90

Organic to paid

From organic to paid

  1. Pick the winner

Only a video that passed 100,000 views organically is a candidate for paid use.

  2. Get the rights

Ask the creator in writing before any paid use, and settle pay in the same message.

  3. Test one variable

Run the same video with a single change: the first line or the end card.

  4. Compare to $1

Judge paid cost per 1,000 views against the $1 target before widening spend.

From the video to the checkout

  • Send the hero video to the Desire Gem and Chain Necklace page.
  • Mention free shipping on $75+ for UJ Rewards members only where the video shows a bundle.
  • Close with the returns line: eligible purchases can be returned or exchanged within 14 days of receipt.
  • For skincare, point to Subscribe + save 10% on select beauty essentials.
  • Referral videos: friends get 20% off and the sender earns 200 UJ Rewards points.

Part 15 of 15

Category rules

Jewelry with a skincare shelf

Uncommon James sells jewelry and skincare under one name. Jewelry gets no health talk. Skincare gets the brand's own words and nothing added.

  • Claims come from the sheet

Creators quote only the sheet. Anything else goes to #claims-questions before it is filmed, and a draft that strays is sent back.

  • No metal-safety talk

No allergy, sensitivity or 'safe for your ears' lines about any ring, stud or chain. The site does not say it, so creators don't either.

  • Skincare: brand words only

For Go Nude Glutathione Body Serum, read the brand's description and say it is the brand's description. No paraphrase, no added benefit.

  • No results promises

No before and after, no 'this fixed my skin', no timelines. A routine video shows a routine, not an outcome.

  • Prices and offers match the site

If a price is named, it is the one shown, like $45.00 for Emerald Stud Earrings. Offers carry their conditions, such as UJ Rewards members for free shipping.

  • Disclose every paid post

Every post says it is paid in the first line of the caption. A post without disclosure, or one that broke a rule, earns no bonus.

The brand’s legal team sets the final rules. This is the operating floor I’d start from, not legal advice.
