Kristin Cavallari is someone who knows what she wants and makes it happen.
That’s exactly what she did in 2017 when founding Uncommon James with the desire to create jewelry that elevates not only personal style, but confidence. Bringing her cool California style and signature attitude together, she created pieces that give women permission to wear whatever they want and feel good doing it. Every piece is a reflection of our mission and the way our founder and CEO Kristin lives her life.
Then we figured, why stop there? Confidence doesn’t just come from what you wear, but also your lifestyle. For Kristin, that’s a clean lifestyle with products that meet her high standards. So it only felt right to create nontoxic, clean-burning candles, a clean skincare line (hey Uncommon Beauty), and an EWG verified fragrance line. Each brand extension is intentionally made to elevate your life and give you the confidence to take on every day, without sacrificing what you deserve.
What will we do next? Whatever feels right. We might not know exactly what that is now, but when we do you’ll be the first person we tell.

The gold tone
Please note, we are rolling out a warmer gold tone so the hue in our images may not exactly match the product you receive. This adjustment creates a more classic, true gold look — one that effortlessly layers with both new styles and your favorite UJ pieces. It's a subtle refinement designed to feel timeless, effortless, and easy to wear every day.
Warranty
Uncommon James provides a manufacturer's warranty on eligible full-price jewelry purchases for up to one (1) year from the original purchase date.
Uncommon James must be contacted within the applicable warranty period for the item to be considered for compensation. When eligible, compensation may include a same-item replacement, when available, or merchandise credit.
Returns and exchanges
Eligible purchases may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of receipt.
Online purchases may be returned or exchanged through the Uncommon James online Returns Center or at an Uncommon James retail store. Eligible purchases made at an Uncommon James retail store may also be returned or exchanged at an Uncommon James retail store or through the online return process.
For orders that include Checkout+, eligible returns include free return shipping.
Eligible returns or exchanges completed at an Uncommon James retail store are not subject to a return shipping or handling fee.
When the refund lands
Once your return is delivered to our warehouse, please allow 5–7 business days for it to be processed. Once approved, refunds will be issued to the original form of payment or as merchandise credit, when applicable.
After a refund is issued, please allow up to 10 business days for the credit to appear on your account, depending on your financial institution.
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive an item that is damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, please take a photo of the item and contact Customer Experience within 30 days of receipt for assistance.
Can I cancel my order after it’s been placed?
We will do all we can to assist with canceling your order. Please reach out to Customer Experience immediately after your order is placed if a cancellation is needed. If the order has gone through the system, a cancellation will not be possible. In those instances, please see return policy for more details.
What does Uncommon Clean mean?
The Uncommon Clean mission is to create clean, safe, and transparent skincare and fragrance products that you can feel confident using time and time again. While there’s no finite definition of “clean skincare” or “clean fragrance,” we hold our formulas to extremely high standards — everything must be vegan, Leaping Bunny certified, gluten free, silicone free, sulfate free, paraben free, petrolatum free, and phthalate free. Additionally, all skincare is synthetic fragrance free, our eau de parfum is EWG verified, and we banned over 2,700 ingredients from our skincare and fragrance product formulations that do not align with our standards. We are also 100% transparent about every ingredient in our skincare and fragrance formulas — nothing’s a secret here.

Any orders that include an engraved item have a 5-7 day processing timeframe.
Our internal shipping hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. CST. Please note, this excludes national holidays. We primarily ship through UPS. Please note: During periods of high order volume, processing times for standard shipping are extended to 5–7 business days.
Orders placed after internal shipping hours will begin processing the next business day. Orders placed on Friday after 2 p.m. CST, as well as orders placed on Saturday and Sunday, will begin processing the following Monday.
Due to shipping regulations, any order containing fragrance must ship using Standard Shipping (ground shipping) and is only available for shipment within the contiguous United States.
We are unable to ship to PO boxes. If you have a military address, please reach out to Customer Experience and we'll help place your order.
